WALCOTT'S WIZARDRY MAGIC FOR WENGER

ARSENAL cruised into the Champions League group stages last night to give Arsene Wenger a potential £20million kitty and ensure there was no hangover from Saturday’s flat display in defeat at Fulham.

Samir Nasri, with the first goal in the 27th minute, effectively ended the affair as a contest, putting Arsenal 3-0 ahead on aggregate.

It was a neat instant return for Nasri, who was signed from Marseille in the summer for £11m. Coincidentally, it was the 11th consecutive season under Wenger Arsenal have managed the distinction of reaching Europe and further goals from William Gallas, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner just added gloss.

Arsenal boss Wenger, furious with his team after that woeful 1-0 league defeat at Fulham, made three changes.
Out went Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue and striker Emmanuel Adebayor. In came Cesc Fabregas, Johan Djourou and Nicklas Bendtner.

It meant a highly welcome and anticipated return for key playmaker Fabregas, his first match of the campaign after hamstring trouble.
